Slow Food Volunteering!
After spending part of the weekend getting reacquainted with our neglected vegetable garden we were reminded with the reality of how wonderful it is to grow your own food and how sad we are when we drop the ball! We've cleared out the beds and are nurturing our garden back to health in hopes that by the end of the season our our neglect will be somewhat forgiven. Fingers crossed...
And speaking of gardening, we're looking forward to volunteering at the Slow Food San Francisco chapter's Food Work Day at Finny Farm on September 25. Similar to an 'agricultural barn-raising' a group of 20 volunteers helps to install an organic neighborhood garden to help educate neighbors about urban gardening.
